My name’s Troy Puyear, and I believe fundraising should feel less like a meeting… and more like a moment.
I’ve been a mic guy for over a decade — hosting weddings, parties, karaoke nights, and yes, fundraisers that leave people saying, “Wait, how did we just raise that much?”
One night, I was emceeing a benefit dinner, and there was a dessert auction. I hyped up some cakes — nothing special, mind you — with enough charm, jokes, and flair that two guests got into a bidding war. The winning table paid a thousand dollars. For two cakes.
It’s moments like that that prove what I know to be true:
